BitTorrent, developed by Bram Cohen and BitTorrent, Inc., is a peer-to-peer program used for uploading and downloading files via the BitTorrent protocol.
This client enables a user to search for and download torrent files using a built-in search box ("Search for torrents") in the main window, which opens the BitTorrent torrent search engine page with the search results in the user's default web browser.
There are some new features such as multiple parallel downloads, several statistical, tabular and graphical views for the current version
of the client.
The Latest Version.
The most recent version of the program is BitTorrent 6.4 which is currently only available for Windows and Mac OS X 10.5.x and is no longer an open source program. The client is a proprietary software available in several languages.
